Made from 3mm thick galvanised/­stainless steel. Hip irons are designed to help stop the lowest tile from slipping on a roof.

These are now most commonly used for us the way they look. Lots of designers like to use these as they can help give the roof a more finished look. Often used on Victorian style houses to keep in keep with the design of the rest of the house. The stainless steel hip iron is much more resistant to corrosion therefore will last longer however the galvanised is a cheaper option.
