How to Clean Graffiti Using Tetrion Graffiti Remover
Graffiti can sometimes be an expression of urban art and creativity, for example, the famous pieces by Banksy. However, more often than not, unwanted or unauthorised graffiti can become an eyesore, potentially devaluing property and leaving a less than favourable impression. If you are facing such a challenge, Tetrion Graffiti Remover stocked at BS Fixings is your go-to solution! This powerful, simple product is designed to restore surfaces to their pristine condition, efficiently removing graffiti without causing any damage.
In this blog post, we’ll guide you through a step-by-step process on how to use Tetrion graffiti remover, ensuring you obtain optimal results.
Understanding the Surface
Before applying any product, it is important to understand the type of surface you’re dealing with. Luckily, Tetrion graffiti remover is suitable for a variety of surfaces including masonry, wood, glass, and stainless steel, however, familiarising yourself with the surface ensures you choose the right technique for the task. For example, more porous materials such as brick might require a stiffer brush and more effort than smoother surfaces such as glass.
Safety First
When working with any chemical solution, it is always important to put safety first. On our website, we stock a range of PPE products, such as protective eyewear and gloves that can help to protect yourself from irritations and accidental splashes. It is also vital to ensure you are spraying the product in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling concentrated fumes.
Application
Once all the safety measures are in place, you can start spraying! The Tetrion graffiti remover can be used to remove paint, marker pens, crayon, and ink. More stubborn mediums such as spray paint will require the remover to be left on for longer.
- Shake Well: ensure the product is well-mixed by shaking the bottle vigorously, keeping it in an upright position.
- Apply Liberally: once shaken, spray the remover generously onto the marked area, approximately 30cm away. For larger surfaces, you might need to work in sections to ensure effectiveness.
- Let it Sit: allow the solution to penetrate the graffiti, the product will start to work after only 5 to 10 seconds, but depending on the surface and medium, you might need to leave it for longer. For stubborn patches, the solution may require a soaking time of over 10 minutes, but do not let the product dry.
- Wiping: after the product has been left, you can remove it with a cloth or brush depending on the surface. For smooth surfaces such as glass and stainless steel, wiping the area with a cloth and water will work a treat. For rough materials like wood and brick, you will require a stiff-bristled brush.
- Repeat: in case there is any leftover graffiti, simply repeat the process until it has all disappeared!
Prevention is Better than Cure
If your property is prone to graffiti and vandalism, you can consider using anti-graffiti coatings or sealants once you have cleaned the surface. These create a protective layer, making it harder for graffiti to adhere to, ensuring easier removal in the future.
Graffiti can be a daunting challenge for property owners, but with products like Tetrion graffiti remover, the task becomes significantly more manageable. By following the steps outlined above, you can restore the beauty of your surfaces and prevent future graffiti-related headaches. Plus, you don’t have to use it for graffiti purposes either! Here at BS Fixings, we started using this product ourselves, to prep stainless steel before polishing and coating, creating a clean surface for further production - we couldn’t recommend it enough!
