Since 2014 we have been supplying and sourcing stainless steel products, from fixings and fastenings to home and gardening tools – we are experts in the industry! Our wire catalogue has become one of our most versatile product categories, serving the construction industry, welders, gardeners, and even artists.

Here at BS Fixings, we stock a variety of wire materials on our website, all of which can be used for an abundance of projects, and we are going to talk about some of these in this blog post. If you are currently searching for a wire product, you can rely on us for top-quality supplies!

Stainless Steel Wire

As you might have guessed, nearly all of our wire products are manufactured out of stainless steel, as it is a strong and durable material that boasts a range of benefits. Stainless steel wire is predominantly used within the construction industry, for cabling materials together, insulation, and hardware. However, due to ease of use and cost-effectiveness, it is also used for kitchenware, fencing, and garden work. As well as its overall strength, stainless steel has exceptional resistance against corrosion, which makes it suitable for many environments, including settings which are more prone to chemicals or harsh weather conditions.

The wires that we supply are mainly created out of grade 304 or 316 stainless steel, both of which are utilised for everyday tasks and jobs. Grade 304/A2 stainless steel is malleable and corrosion-resistant, making it ideal for commercial industries. Grade 316 is similar; however, it can be used in a wider range of environments that might be exposed to chloride and saline.

Sculpting Wire

Due to its great holding power and flexibility, stainless steel is fantastic for wire sculptures. On our website, we stock sculpting wire, which has been created solely for professional and at-home artists. Manufactured out of 304 stainless steel, this product can be moulded into any shape you would like! Plus, because of its resistance to wear and tear, this wire can be used to create sculptures for indoor and outdoor use, so if you are looking to present in a gallery or have a commission for a garden area, this product is perfect. Our stainless steel tying wires are great for art too.

Welding Wire

Our other stainless steel wire products are designed for the welding industry, specifically created to weld stainless steel sheets and clad steel. We stock two types, MIG and TIG, which are both produced to the highest standards, to ensure ease of use and consistency. The MIG wire contains a higher content of silicon to improve weld consistency and is available in a wide range of grades for different applications. The TIG wire requires practice and skill to utilise to its full potential and is therefore perfect for welding professionals. For more details about our welding wire and the grades we stock, please check them out on our website.

Galvanised Wire

The final wire product we are going to cover is galvanised wire, which is slightly different from our stainless steel items. Galvanised wire is manufactured out of steel, which has been coated in zinc for outstanding corrosion resistance. Without the process of galvanisation, the steel will become brittle and weak over time, as it is prone to rust, so the zinc provides a protective layer for the steel, to create a barrier from water and oxygen, reducing the rate of corrosion. Our galvanised wire is commonly used to reinforce bars, tying, and mesh fencing.
