Steel Banding Sealer Crimp Tool
The Purpose of a Steel Banding Strapping Sealer Crimping Tool
Securing Strapping
The primary purpose of this tool is to create a secure seal on steel strapping. It does this by crimping a metal seal or clip over the overlapping ends of the steel strap. This crimping action locks the strapping in place, ensuring that it doesn't come loose during handling, shipping, or storage.
Providing Tension:
Although the tensioning of the strap is typically done with a separate tensioner tool, the sealer crimping tool ensures that the strap remains tight by applying a strong, reliable seal. This helps maintain the tension set by the tensioner, preventing the strapping from loosening.
Safety and Stability:
By securely fastening the strapping around items, the sealer helps to prevent packages or pallets from shifting, tipping over, or coming apart. This is crucial for safety in handling and to protect the items being shipped from damage.
Ease of Use
A steel banding sealer crimping tool is typically designed for manual use, making it practical for various industrial and commercial applications. It is often used in conjunction with other tools like a strapping dispenser, tensioner, and cutters.
How Does a Steel Banding Strapping Sealer Crimping Tool Work?
Positioning
After tensioning the steel strap around the package or pallet, a metal seal (also known as a crimp or clip) is placed over the overlapping ends of the strapping.
Crimping
The sealer tool is then positioned over the seal. When the handles of the sealer are squeezed together, the tool crimps or compresses the seal around the strap, deforming the seal and embedding it into the strapping. This action securely locks the strap in place.
Inspection
Once crimped, the seal should be checked to ensure that it is secure and that there is no slippage. A properly crimped seal should not allow the strapping to move or come loose.
