Frame Cramp Wall Ties
Frame Cramp Wall Ties – The 4 Variations
Frame Cramp Wall Ties are one of our most popular products here at BS Fixings, but do you know there are several different variations and 2 different materials to choose from? We also have many different sizes and whilst they all perform a similar task once the ties are in position, they prevent sideways movement between a wall and another structure. The different sizes and additional drip mean choosing the right one can be confusing, so we would like to talk more about how each one differs to help you make the right choice.
Standard Frame Cramp Wall Tie
First is the Standard Frame Cramp Wall Tie. This tie has no drip feature, and the hole on the upstand is 7mm and not a slotted hole. Available in both stainless steel and galvanised steel our available sizes include: 75mm, 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 175mm, 200mm, 225mm, 250mm, 300mm. Sizes 225mm, 250mm and 300mm are sold in boxes of 200 whilst all other sizes are sold in boxes containing 250.
Second is Frame Cramp Wall Tie with Drip
As the name implies, the Frame Cramp Wall Tie with Drip is supplied with a drip to prevent moisture crossing the cavity. The drip is positioned at 90mm from the safety end as standard. This product comes in 9 different sizes (lengths) ranging from the smallest at 75mm long to the largest (longest) at 300mm. Frame Cramp Wall Tie with Drips come in boxes of 200 (for sizes 225mm, 250mm and 300mm) and 250 as standard for all remaining sizes.
Slotted Frame Cramp Wall Ties
Thirdly is the Slotted Frame Cramp Wall Tie. This tie is the same as the Standard Frame Cramp Wall Tie except the hole in the upstand is slotted to allow different types of fixing. The Slotted Frame Cramp Dowel Hole Wall Ties are used to restrain masonry walls back to other part of the structure, for example pre-existing or new walls or steel work. Once the ties are in place, they stop movement in a sideways direction of a wall and another element. We have 2 different options of material here, galvanised, or stainless-steel. Sizes 225mm, 250mm and 300mm are sold in boxes of 200. All other sizes are in boxes of 250 pieces. You have 10 different sizes to choose from ranging from the smallest at 75mm long to the largest at 300mm long. There is no drip feature on this product.
Slotted Frame Cramp with Drip
And finally, we have the Slotted Frame Cramp with Drip. This product is supplied with a slot in the upstand to allow different types of fixings and a drip feature to prevent moisture from travelling across the cavity. Available in stainless steel or galvanised steel, these wall ties are also used to restrain masonry walls back to other parts of the structure, for example pre-existing or new walls or steel work. Once the ties are in place, they stop movement in a sideways direction of a wall and another element within the construction. Available sizes include: 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 175mm, 200mm, 225mm, 250mm, 300mm and the drip position is 90mm from safety end as standard.
